David was one of the spiritual giants of the Old
Testament, yet there was a time that he failed the Lord, bringing reproach on both himself and his God. After
being delivered a message of God from Nathan the prophet, David repented.
His prayer of repentance is found in Psalm 51 where he asked for forgiveness
and restoration. David related how the joy and the free spirit had departed from him. He
missed God’s blessings and desired to once again have favor with Him.
When we sin we should immediately repent. The Lord is
waiting and willing to forgive. The grass may appear greener on the other side; nevertheless, as David
learned, God’s way is always best. ~
