Verse for Today
And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak. (Judges
1:20)
The ten evil spies had said, “We saw the giants, the sons of Anak…we were in our own sight as grasshoppers,
and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33) Caleb’s observation was,
“Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30)
Well, forty-five years later Caleb’s faith had not diminished, but those who doubted God’s word were no
where to be found. What all those
men of Israel were afraid to do, Caleb did. He knew that what God had promised He was able also to perform,
and he knew that he and God were the majority. With the Lord, you are a winner either way!
