Verse for Today
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
(Psalm 125:2)
How wonderful to know the ever-present God! The psalmist compared the surrounding presence of God
to the mountains surrounding the city of Jerusalem. Jerusalem’s inhabitants could behold those mountains
cuddling the city and be reminded that they too were sheltered in the arms of God!
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, the Lord is always there watching you and ready to help at a moments notice,
just as a parent who watches his kid on a playground and is ready to run to his assistance at the first sign of distress.
God, who said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” is there to tenderly guide you with His hand away
from the paths of harm and into the path of the center of His will. Remember
those mountains today, and sense His presence as He guides and blesses you with His tender loving care!
