Verse for Today
LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for
me. (Psalm 131:1)
Humility is a desirable trait with God and man. One does not attract favor by being haughty, but
rather by being humble. When we are tempted to swell with pride all we have to think about is who we really
are and from whence our gifts and talents come. You and I are but
dust of the earth. God lovingly formed us from the ground with His very hand. Furthermore,
everything of which we can be proud is from the Lord. Paul declared, “By the grace of God I am what
I am.” So we need to point our finger up to Heaven and declare, “To God be the glory!”
Let’s walk with God today in humility. ~
