An Upward Look

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Psalm 5:3

Scripture Verse for Today

I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.  (Psalm 132:16)

One attribute of the saved is the joy that’s unspeakable and full of glory in our souls.  That does not mean that we are always on the mountaintop, well, rich, famous, and endowed with this world’s goods, but it does mean that regardless of our situation the joy of the Lord is still there.

You will notice that the happiness of the world comes and goes with their situation.  That’s called situational happiness.  On the contrary, God’s joy is there when you need it most.  David sang a song from the cave in which he was hiding from Saul.  Paul and Silas sang praises and worshiped the Lord at midnight in a prison.

Salvation is something to shout about.  The world cannot understand why the saints of God shout and praise the Lord, but when we count our blessings, we realize that we have a million reasons.     ~~~
