Verse for Today
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
(Psalm 140:4)
We live in a world of danger and violence. The psalmist cries out to the Lord to be kept from the
hands of the wicked and from the violent man. We must trust Him, who alone can assure total protection
in these violent days, to preserve our lives. We have the same God who preserved the life of Daniel among
those hungry lions. I am sure when we get to Heaven we will discover that
more than once the Lord saw danger in our pathway and sent His angels of protection to spare us.
In those times, when in His wisdom the Lord permits us to go through the fire, He will supply the grace to overcome.
