An Upward Look

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Psalm 5:3

Scripture Verse for Today

Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.  (Psalm 141:3)

James said, “If a man offends not in word, the same as a perfect man.”  (James 3:2)  Our tongue gets us in more trouble that we can get out of.  How many times have you said something that you would love to take back, but can not?  Words are like spilled milk; once they come out there is no retrieving them.  We need to be quick to listen and slow to speak – just the opposite of our human nature.

Knowing our speech is hard to control, we must pray to the Lord that He will help us control what we find near impossible.  Considering how much we talk, seems we will be doing a lot of praying!    ~
