Verse for Today
A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. (Proverbs 11:13)
We all have two ears and one mouth; could that mean that we should listen twice as much as we speak? Many
a friendship has been broken because someone could not keep a trust. As
we mature in the Lord those who have confidence in us will confide in us. Secrets will be revealed to us
that should never be repeated. Sometimes folks share with us just to get it off their chest.
At other times, they share with us because they desperately need an answer from us. Either way,
we must be very careful not to break a trust. If you must talk to someone, then talk to the Lord about
it. Be a good friend, never betray a trust, and you will
never know the pain of a severed friendship. In other words, make sure your brain is in gear before your
mouth starts running! ~~~
