An Upward Look

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Psalm 5:3

Scripture Verse for Today

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.  (Jeremiah 20:9)

Most every preacher or witness of the Lord has been through the valley and wanted to throw up their hands and quit, but found they could not.  Maybe it was because of opposition or maybe from lack of response that discouragement overcame them.

Jeremiah was known as the weeping prophet.  Very few responded to his message.  He had to reveal to Judah its dark future of destruction and captivity, but wanting to quit, he discovered that the word of God was a burning fire that he could not hold back.  Therefore, he kept on keeping on.

The word of God has a way of moving our hearts to tell the wonderful story of Jesus again and again.    ~
