Even in this modern world, there is still a difference between right and wrong and between holy and unholy.  Churches are full of people who do not know the Lord.  They live ungodly lives, yet claim to be holy.  Recently on the news we saw a Sodomite claiming to be a minister of God.  NO WAY!  One who lives in such depth of sin need first to repent and turn from that sin before trying to lead anyone else.  We must realize that we are either Godly or ungodly; we can’t be both.
