The Lord cries out through Haggai, the prophet, “Consider your ways.” The people of
Israel had come back from captivity and built their own houses, but they had forgotten to rebuild God’s house.
God must truly be the Lord of our lives. He must come first. The Bible teaches
us that we must deny self in order to follow Jesus. That’s a bigger job than it seems.
When our love and commitment for our Lord is as it should be, we will first pause and ask, “What would He have
me to do?” The Holy Spirit and the Word of God will show us the way.
Let’s look into the mirror of the Word of God and observe our shortcomings! ~
