Scripture Verse for Today

     And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  (Matthew 16:18)

      I’ve heard said, “The church is going down.”  It may be that some local church is diminishing in attendance, but the truth of the matter is that the church is going up!  Jesus Christ is building His church and someday soon He will return to receive a triumphant church unto Himself and will take us to Heaven to live in His presence forever more!

      The architect and builder of the church is Jesus and that assures its success.  The gates of hell will not prevail against God’s church.  If we are warring at the gates of hell, then the church must be on the offensive and hell on the defensive.  Praise the Lord; the church will win!     ~
