Scripture Verse for Today

     And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.  (Luke 6:31)

      If the inhabitants of this planet would live by these simple instructions, it would be heaven on earth!

      Of the Ten Commandments, the first four are directed toward our relationship with God, and the last six deal with our relationship with our fellowman.  Luke 6:31 encompasses all of those last six.  In dealing with others, we should first stop and ask, “If they were me and I were them, how would I act?”  Would I think evil thoughts about them if they were me?  Would I want friends to spread gossip about me if the tables were turned?  Would I treat my neighbor the same if he were I?  No.  Let’s live today by the golden rule!    ~
