Verse for Today
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be
filled. (Luke 14:23)
Let’s make
two observations in Luke 14:23. First is the command to GO and COMPEL.
The servant was not told to put up a sign and wait; but rather, to GO into the highways (easy paths) and hedges (hard
paths) and COMPEL them to come. They will not come to us; we must go to them. He bids
us to GO out where the lost are and win them to Christ. Our second observation
is the goal of our activity: THAT MY HOUSE MAY BE FILLED. The purpose of going out into
the world and winning the lost to Jesus is to fill up Heaven. I trust that what we do today will help someone
reach Heaven. ~
