November 9 Scripture Verse for Today When Jesus therefore had received
the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. (John 19:30)
After six hours of physical and spiritual anguish on the cross, Jesus uttered the words, “It is finished”.
These words refer, not to His life, but to the sacrifice that was given for our sins. Since the first sin
in the garden of Eden, mankind had waited for redemption. Finally, the Lamb of God had come to be sacrificed
and atone for sin: my sins, your sins and the sins of the whole world. Our salvation was signed, sealed
and ready to be delivered to all who believe. How true are the words of the song, “Jesus paid it
all; all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow!”
