An Upward Look

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Scripture Verse for Today

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.  (Acts 8:4)

When persecution came to the apostles, they did not stop; but rather, they continued to preach as they were scattered abroad.  Some of the greatest periods of church growth in history have come during times of great persecution.

The believers at Jerusalem journeyed to Judaea and Samaria, thus fulfilling the second step of the Great Commission found in Acts 1:8.  Perhaps things were going so well in Jerusalem that the disciples forgot to reach out to others.  The death of Stephen and the persecution that followed was the nudging they needed.  Let’s not get so comfortable in our ministry that we forget the Lord’s mission to evangelize the whole world.

Don’t let Satan stop your witnessing today.     ~
