10 Scripture
Verse for Today And Abraham said, My son, God will provide
himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. (Genesis 22:8)
Abraham went to Mount Moriah thinking he would
have to offer his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice to the Lord. God was testing him to see if he were willing
to give that which was dearest to him. At the last moment God stopped him. Instead,
he sacrificed a ram caught in the bushes. He had passed the test! Many
years later, God looked down upon that same mountain and watched as His only begotten son was nailed to an old rugged cross,
and for six agonizing hours He watched Him die. There was no substitute ram that day. His
son, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, had to die. Praise God, He did provide
a lamb! ~
