19 Scripture
Verse for Today
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
(Psalm 19:14)
In Psalm 19:14 are the words that I pray before preaching. I realize
that if I am to be an effective minister of the Lord Jesus Christ, I must speak His words, not mine.
It doesn’t matter if I please men, or not; in fact, the Apostle Paul said if he yet pleased men he should not be the
servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10). Whether we are witnessing to others or preaching from a pulpit our
prayer should be that our thoughts and words would be acceptable to God. Let’s
pray today that everything we say or think would be pleasing to the Lord. If that prayer is answered, we
will make a difference in someone’s life. ~
