March 12 Scripture Verse for
Today
For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith the LORD was wroth against you to destroy you. But the LORD hearkened
unto me at that time also. (Deuteronomy 9:19)
What an awesome example of the power of prayer! While Moses was
upon the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments, Israel, led by Aaron, made a golden calf and proclaimed it their God.
What an awful sin! God was ready to destroy Aaron along with the children of Israel and to raise
up another nation from the descendents of Moses. In spite of God’s
anger and hot displeasure Moses pleaded with the Lord to spare his brother and the rebellious people of Israel.
He poured out his heart to God on behalf of the people and the Lord listened to his prayer and changed his mind.
Do not neglect that awesome power that God has given you – prayer! ~
